DEFOREST, WI, August 13, 2024—The annual Pup-A-Palooza dog daycare event at Green Acres Pet Resort raised $780.00 for Dane County Humane Society’s (DCHS) Wildlife Center. Some items on the DCHS Wish List were also donated. Clients who made a donation had their dog’s official Pup-A-Palooza Key West event photo taken and posted to social media. 
“All the animals and people here at Dane County Humane Society and our Wildlife Center are so grateful for the support of Green Acres Pet Resort and their clients! Our Wildlife Center is 100% community supported, so events like this truly save lives! These funds could cover nearly five months of food for one of our raptor patients, like an owl, hawk, or eagle. Thank you all for supporting the wild side of DCHS,” said Lisa Bernard, Development and Communications Supervisor.
Pup-A-Palooza was the resort’s first fundraising event. The Key West theme was a celebration of the ‘dog days of summer’, capturing the essence of the relaxed and vibrant beach town atmosphere. All of the dog enjoyed the refreshing splash mats, pools, and sprinklers. They also participated in themed activities including beach ball games and flamingo folly.
“We are thrilled by the wonderful success of our first fundraising event! Pup-A-Palooza was a fun event for both dogs and staff, all while supporting Dane County Humane Society’s Wildlife Center. The success of this event would not have been possible without the generosity and enthusiastic participation of our dog daycare clients. We are deeply grateful for their support and look forward to more events where we can come together for important organizations and causes in our community,” Kelsie Beck, resort manager at Green Acres Pet Resort.
The Pup-A-Palooza Beach Party at the end of the day for the pet parents included a gift basket raffle to benefit DCHS-WC. The gift basket included free services at the pet resort along with fun, themed games and items for the pet and parent. The dog daycare programs at Green Acres Pet Resort support the social, emotional, and physical well-being of each unique dog in a loving, safe, and fun-filled environment. The special events throughout the year give the dogs a positive atmosphere to explore new experiences that boost their confidence and strengthen their bonds with people.
